Welcome To The Woods, Our New Home
Free book and short story inside! *Warning, no diamonds kept in this post overnight
Welcome to our new home! The woods.
Be careful of the bluebells, you don’t know who you might conjure this time of year.
I’m so glad you’ve made it. I’ve built up the campfire, please, take a seat. I’ve made them from fallen tree trunks, the trees don’t mind.
Marshmallow on a stick?
No, you’re right, I should have brought skewers. Much cleaner.
As the sun dips below the horizon, you might feel a shiver coming on. It’s definitely just the darkness encroaching, nothing else to worry about.
The fire will keep us safe.
Fire and swords.
Are you settled?
Good.
How have you been?!
It’s been such a long time.
Before we get properly started, I have some admin.
We’re in the woods, so the exits are all around us, although I would stick to the paths if I was you. Who knows what’s lurking in the undergrowth, or above our heads for that matter.
There’s a free ebook available for subscribers only.
You may already have a copy, but if you don’t, you can grab yours here.
As this page is available for everyone but the ebook is free to subscribers only (please remember, there will never be paid subscribers on this Substack, this only costs your soul email address), you will have to input your email to get the book.
Sorry about that. Any problems, let me know in the comments or send me an email.
I need your help with something.
The Erica and Jess books, all five of them, are now available in as many places as possible other than Amazon.
Hurray! More marshmallows for everyone!
The thing is, the only reviews and ratings for them are on Amazon.
If you’ve read the books and enjoyed them, I would really appreciate it if you could leave a rating or review on Apple, Barnes & Noble/Nook, and Kobo.
You can just copy and paste, or choose your favourite and stick with that.
Thank you so much!
(Psst. Beginnings is currently only 0.99, if you don’t have a copy and want to try this series.)
And now, the first freebie story in our new home.
I’m ever so proud of this story. It turns out I wrote it back in 2013, back when I was still working the 9-5 job that almost killed me and destroyed a part of my soul.
It won second place in a competition and gave me a tiny piece of hope that there was life after that soul sucking job.
I always planned to write Digby’s full story, and maybe I still will.
For now, here is a snapshot of who Digby is and just what she’s capable of.
Thank you so much for being here.
Now, eat up, you might want to get home with your stories before that howling gets closer.
Get these posts and free stories straight to your inbox, so you don’t miss a thing. There’s so much coming up, including competitions, more freebies and lots of stories.
